Behaviour in Court

Punishment. I am sincerely sorry for what I have
done amiss, and I most humbly promise not to offend
in like manner any more.

A Person thus committed shall have all such
Liberty to converse with his friends and agents in
order to prosecute an Appeal for his deliverance.

Upon the Appeal the matter of fact shall in course
be taken to be as it is stated upon the face of the record.
But if the Appellant think proper to contest the record
he may do it giving notice to the Judge what witnesses
he means to examine.

Upon hearing the Appeal the superior Court may
either 1st Dismiss the Appeal, leaving the commitments
as before to the discretion of the Judge. 2. Discharge the Appellant upon
condition of his making his submission. 3. Discharge
him simply without exacting any submission. In the
two first cases the Appellant may be ordered to pay to the
Judge either simple double or treble costs. in the 3d Case
