1. In a case not importing

a certain degree, no
corporal security without
special ground
Practical Rules [with reasons.]
§§. Rule 1. In a case not importing corporal punishment — in a case where
Rules which — the penal or non-penal, or penal, in which the demand imports
defendant will not be subjected to any obligation more penal than [+] [+] an obligation to suffer a
pecuniary or quasi pecuniary
loss.
Security for justiciability, whether corporal or real or
fide justorial, being in each case necessarily attended with vexation ought not to be exacted to the charge of any defendant
but upon some special ground.

Rule 2. Such special ground will be corporal
punishment an apprehension, declared on the part of the
plaintiff upon oath, that without the security applied for,
his recovery of the article on demand, will for want of or
on part of the defendant be endangered.

Rule 3. The nature of the case admitts of its being expressed by
a general formulary: pre appointed forms of words: and therefore it ought to be so expressed.
