What is the service you would have me render you? call for at my hands
What is it you would have me do for you? want of me Why should I do
it for you? What is it that puts in my power what laws what facts are there what is it that lays
me under the obligation of rendering you any such service. Such
are the questions established forms upon which a Judge would naturally put to a man
of whom in the pretence guise of a suitor be observed making his approaches
to the seat of judicature. In his Thus simple are the questions,
the answer to which, taken in all its modifications, will be included
the whole detail and plan and theory of actions. of those legal demands
of all sorts the principal greater number of which though not the whole
are in every established of procedure characterized by some
name correspondent to that of actions.
