Means of compelling disclosure

Means of compelling

Art. Means of compelling disclosure. The
individual being in custody, means of employable in
case of necessity are the following
1 Dieting
1. Dieting. Keeping the patient f until compliance
with a smaller quantity of food smaller than the ordinary
allowance to the extent of very quantity: or else
2 Fasting
2 Fasting. Keeping the patient until compliance without food
or without drink, or without food or drink untill
compliance, or untill it is necessary to administer
the food or the drink to prevent death.
3 Solitude or darkness
or both
3. Adding to the above privation, solitude, darkness
or both.

Conditions warranting
the employment of these
compulsory means
1 Information in patients
power
2 Information not
obtainable by less
afflictive means
Art. To warrant the employment of any
such means of compulsion two conditions are necessary.
1. That the affording the information sought is in
the power of the patient.
2. That it can not in time for the proceeding to be
grounded in it, be obtained by less afflictive operations.
