§ . Eldon's Successors paid
for him to play

Whoever succeeds Lord Eldon in the office of Lord
Chancellor, has a noble part before him if he can not
prevail upon himself to give his support to a system of
procedure in which to the present end actual ends of
judicature, to wit maximization of functionaries corrupt
profit shall be substituted the ends of justice.
But to this purpose he must direct himself,
and apply his authority to the directing all other Judges
of all corruption profit derived from these services the same corruptioness
of which has received such ample and unquestionable
demonstration: all remuneration from fees — to into
whose hand were paid — his own or those of his locatees
Even the enormous aggregate of the profit drawn by Lord Eldon from the
impure sources in so vast an amount a multitude need not and
would not be grudged to him if paid in the shape purified by bein conversion
into salary
