Procedure & Evidence

Another proof of the prevalence of the sinister over the legitimate
ends of procedure consists of is afforded by the the difference between term
and vacation fees for justice, like other rarities delicacies chickens have different
prices, according to the season.+ + Sillon I. 139 142
et pussoin
Judges allocation of that taken
in the country – in turn, gt in vacation,
12. p.142.

Lawyers better paid higher in vacation than in term
time: why so? is it that labour encreases and is more were to the signing of a name more
labour is necessary at the one time than at another?the others? No: but
that vacations – regularly recurring periods of denial of justice
so far at least as the real state of things corresponds to the name thus
given to it) were made, pretendedly indeed for the convenience
of the suitors, but really for the convenience of the lawyers.
Working out of vacation is working out of time: and as shipwrights
are paid so do lawyers pay themselves extra pay for
working extra hours. The regular hours – the time for ordinary
pay constitute scarce a third part of the year. The
rest of the year is employed – how? – partly in working for
extra pay in pretence of extra trouble; partly in pensioned
idleness.
