Those of the principle of corruption in the technical system
generally irresistible.

A man in whose mind the idea of human misery
in immense masses by wholesale is con by a train of experiences continuing occupying
through the whole track of life connected associated with in the character
of a muse with wealth, power, reputation glory, every thing
that is that wealth flowing into his own coffers, that power wielded by his own sceptre, that glory arching his own brow dearest to man's heart, most dear to ambitious man, is it in the nature of
man that such distinct any other emotion than that
of delight, or at the best of faint and inoperative
regret, should accompany the idea of that remote exterior and
distant however enormous evil, or of any incident event or state
of things that comes to be regarded as a cause of it?

If either in deportment or language or deportment
in uplifted hands and fine pathetic speeches any symptoms
of concern are be uttered are they can they be any thing
better than a varnish laid by decorum over a ground of selfishness or hypocrisy or
professional congruity necessity self interest over a ground of selfishness self-regard.

Are not the most admirable and fascinating actors, the most
displayers of counterfeit feeling known, by those who see them
whom the is of, to be actors and no more?

After reflection a moments reflection, is there any more will any thing be enough
to suppose that the real sufferings are more wisely felt by blanks, than
the woes were by Garrick or by Siddons?

One look in this story-book who – when the
occupied in above, and asked how she should could be
so – they are to it it, no more than what is she
but the Judge, to law English under the technical system, stripped of the
masquerade accoutrements decoration of borrowed honor and crimson. The
cause assigned fact was true, though the expression was of that perplexed texture confused sort which
shame employed for is so naturally employed by shame for as a covering for guilt's
usage there really was not in scarcely in the greater the exact quarter to which it was
referred: usage there really truly was: and as truly in that usage ever to be found the cause of apathy and indifference.
