The time of an English Judge is pretty fully occupied:
with inaction the least active of the number can not be charged. Yet
it is not time that is wante to the any want of time that the want of labour in the vineyard
of reformation can be charged. In the The quantity of time
employed in pollinating the abuses might suffice at least for indicating them they might at least be indicated.
For these many years the country has never been without a
number of lawyers – of dignitaries of the first conscience, whose
time has even hung heavy on their hands. As A Chief Justice
withdrawn from the bench sometimes by inability, sometimes by unwillingness
to have submitt endure endure any longer to the toils of office. Ex Chancellors
two or three at a time washed off the bench by the waves
of party politics and consigned either to absolute retreat, or to
one of those stations of some station of high dignity which to the appearance parade of doing
something add the comfort of doing nothing or what is to
next to it. Among all these so many able hands strong great men has any one been

with so much as a thought about repairing the repair of any of the rotten

and study of a whole life, falshood of an alone, falshood of
any thing, falshood in some shape or other, retains the power of
pleasing. Propose to him any occupation by which the cause welfare
of truth and justice might be served the happiness of mankind might be promoted, the interests of truth and justice served
his answer would be like that of the liberation philosopher to of whom the as

No – any thing rather than this – drag one back rather to the quarry
or to the mine.
