who by this time may have formed a suspicion conjecture suspected the goal
proposition to which this deduction tends: for one I touch already
upon the verge of it. [I have said nothing ill
this while] of the various advantages intended as
eventual which may have been derived from the variety
of institutions above touched upon reported in this chapter: I have

enquiry of no small intricacy and refinement].
