Britain houses some sort of a the Land tax
and the window-tax and now lately the House-tax
and in Ireland the tax called Hearth-money
are the means that houses some sort
of an account is taken of the number of houses
in the two islands. This account enumeration however in
imperfect though pretty general is not universal;
many of the meanest classes meaner sort of dwelling,
not [ being comprized in it, as not falling within
the principle compass of the tax. Nor are the accounts
such as they are render'd public unless by accident
to the world at large.
