such Effect at all — whereas the cutting of a
single parcel of Star and Bent can hardly be
it can hardly be supposed
that the removal of such
a parcel of Bent as
can be cut off by
a single person at a
single time followed by the Effect of producing the obnoxious
Event with which it is associated, an Inundation
It may contribute to it to a small Degree, but
not bring it to pass without at least a Repetition
and Continuance of Acts of the like Kind, not
perhaps even then without the Removing of the
Materials artificially accumulated for the Purpose
of preventing it, + or some other Act of a
different Kind. — The Offences of the
3d Class do all of them come manifestly within
this latter Description. And thus we have
a further Character of that Class.

Single Acts x Habits
Another Distinction fit to be taken notice
of may be that between Accessories that are
such to Single Acts and to Habits — Attempting
to put off a base Coin is, for instance an
Accessory to a single Act only, viz: the principal
Offence of putting off the individual piece in
question
