GENERAL Exemptions.

In order to satisfy ourselves in the case of these
several situations, whether they might or ought
not to give exemption from Punishment we have nothing to do
but to consider what are those circumstances properties which
render an action meet for punishment —
according as we find these properties to continue existing or
not existing or to disappear not existing upon the presence of any every one
of these circumstances, situations we shall judge deliberation.
