Ch. VI. Offences inchoate & consummate
§.

6 continued
a motive held out
for Delinquent to
stop short of consummation.

For the distinction
between preparation
attempt & consummation
reasons difference
in the evil attached
to the offence
in the several cases.

In consummate offences
evil both of the 1st &
2nd order – Introductory
Offence no evil

the 2nd order has place

Ch. VIII Concatenated Offences
§.

Examples Homicide
rape theft
robbery. In the
case of each such offence
are many introductory
acts
distinguishable
acts
introductory to the
consummate each
capable of being constituted
an offence
& separately proveable.
Thence additional
changes of giving
execution to law
by applying means
of repression to these cases
as the number of
these Acts is to No. 1.

By this analysis unity
simplicity &
clearness given to the
conception of aggregate
offences.

Example smuggling
description of accessory
acts very voluminous
& divisible according
to articles taxed
or prohibited & to
different classes of
persons concerned in
each article into so
many different codes.
Each class of persons
not only be acquainted
with that particular
Code in which he may
thus be concerned.
