itself not against the
author, but against
the sufferer.

One man kicks or
spits upon another.
Spectators apply contempt
to the sufferer:
approbation or indifference
to the assailant.

If wrongee suffers
patiently – contempt
increases.

Reason – the opinion
took it's rise in barbarous
ages.

Thus, a sort of arbitrary
power conferred
on the fearless.
