Ch. XII. Remedies

In case of personal
injury where pecuniary
circumstances
are unequal quantum
necessary for
punishment to suffice
fo compensation.

Observe that then
be not a secret. So
prime
the poor
& actual wrongdoer.

Compensation
for injury different
from that for breach
of contract. In the
latter case no inequality
of circumstances
can influence
the sum to be paid.

Burden of compensation
to be contained
in the account of
punishment. Compensaation
to individual
felt far more
severely than to public
at large.

Cases when full
compensation proceeds
the punishment
which wrongdoer ought
to suffer. Property of
wrongee £100,000, of
wronger £100 injury
done £100.
