the decay'd rubbish which surrounded them wherewith we saw them
environ'd - we have cleansed our bricks from
the untempere'd mortar wherewith we found
them dawbed.The rough and laborious part
of our work we have accomplished: the elements
are lying before us pure. Now then
it is that we are to commence Architects: to
marshal them in their order, & to compose
our fabric. like the fish made by the wonder-working Swede, the heads of 2 heads instead of a head & tail, the heads of one sort joined to the tails of another.
