NOTORIETY — FOREIGNERS

A The abridged Code of Laws particularly necessary to be presented to Foreigners esp
their Landing
1 A Catalogue of Goods not to be imported & others Goods not importable might be depositable for certain fees in a warehouse to be restored at return. 2 A Catalogue of Goods not to be exported 3 Directions how to proceed in case of receiving any injury as to go to a Justice of Peace &c

Upon their going to the Custom-House their names qualities & Countries to be
register'd

At the same time a Book to be presented to them at a moderate & fixed
price in the language of the Country of which they shall declare themselves to be
A receipt at the same time to be deliver'd to them in their names for the price of the Book
It may be printed in the book with blanks for the name of the Foreigner & the form
giving the receipt

Upon producing the Book & Receipt they need the not to be obliged to purchase another
Upon the 2d or other subsequent time of their coming to Great-Britain
Otherwise to be obliged —

The Languages into which it is translated to be French, Italian, German, Dutch
Spanish Portugeze Danish, Swedish Russian. If the Foreigner does not belong to any one of those Nations nor understand it's Language — he to buy one of the Books in English, that may get it interpreted by any countryman that he may meet with learn it come understand it as he learns the language.

1st The which the Nation will reap from Foreigners being well
warned to abstain from obnoxious practises offences particularly those which being local
such as those relating to Trade Fraudulent exportation &c they could not have guessed at.

indulgence to supposed ignorance.

3. The Tranquillity & Satisfaction which it will give them to know the extent view at once

not being liable to prosecution for any other offences than those specified.

4. The Reputation that will redound to the Nation from it's attention to
Foreigners; & from their observation knowledge of the equity wisdom & humanity of its Laws
which will spread among in other several states when as their respective subjects return & bring carry it with them the
they have received. and

5. Humanity in general may profit from that knowledge.

To be printed in a small 24 size for the pocket as Vade-mecum
If the whole cannot be thus included: the Impromptuary Laws may be printed in this
form; & the deliberatable in a larger.
