NOTORIETY Use to LEGISLATORS.

The Collection of Acts of Parliament, and of the Decisions
of the several Courts of Justice+, + But take notice of the ancient writs Barr. Obs. III. if all published
as they ought to be, would be, the Circle Area within which the
Knowledge of the least learned & the most
learned would be equally included enclosed circumscribed: a considerable
and manifest difference distinction would indeed
still subsist, between the rest of men and those
who from by profession passing & repassing in their
memory the several articles in that collection,
would have acquired the impromptuary Talent
of calling bringing to mind at once upon all occasions a greater number
of [+] [+] such as in any respect bear analogy to each other. such between which there any was an analogy
subsisted: & in this would consist the preeminence
in this behalf which to a certain degree men of the latter description
would preserve above all others: but
no references need be made to them by others, whose profession it is also though not their practise to be conversant in the Collection as deriving
their a knowledge from certain unknown peculiar & undemonstrable
sources to which they only had
access.
