Nunneries might be allowed permitted and the aid of the civil function extended to the enforcing of
the vows if taken not till after 45 years of age — This will provide a living

for the education of Girls of that persuasion, and afford a comfortable retreat

While the institution is thus permitted under regulations which leave it harmless,

they may be induced to trust to the regular function without throwing themselves on
