Why the several sorts of domestic powers are made
to constitute so many grounds of justification?
This is as much as to ask "why the several
sort of domestic powers above enumerated
are constituted: why the husband has such and such powers
given him over his wife: the father over his
child: and so on. These questions are all of them
very capable as well as very deserving of an answer:
but the answer to them belongs not to this
branch of the law, but to the civil.
Why judicial powers, military powers and sovereign including the powers
powers are subservient to it is made to constitute a so many
grounds of justification?
This again is to as much as to ask, why
j such things powers as judicial, military and sovereign powers
have been instituted and are maintained. For
