Of Irreparable Personal Injuries
I
Irreparable Personal Injuries are either 1. Irreparable
Disfigurement: 2. Irreparable Disablement: or 3.
Mutilation.

Under Disfigurement is comprised Discolourment.
Irreparable Disfigurement is where in the shape (A) or colour (B)
of a man's person any unalterable change is produced
the effect of which is to render his aspect the less agreeable.
Exposition
[1A Shape] As if his nose or ears or lips be split, or
a deep scar be made in any part of his body: so as
upon healing to leave either a hollow or a protuberance.

[(B) Colour] As if a slight scar be made on any part
so as to leave neither hollow nor protuberance:
of his body; or any part of his body be marked with
an indelible stain.

Irreparable Disablement may either be compleat (A)
or incomplete: B it is compleat where a man is deprived
of the use of a member C altogether: incompleat when he
is deprived of the use of it in part.
