Inclosed with this is will accordingly be found a copy of a
paper of mine in the Westminster Review Noo 21 for October
1826 containing Observation on the consisting of on having for its subject matter Mr Humphrey's note intituled "Observation on the actual state of the English
"Law of Property, with the Outline of a Code": that is to say
in the first Edition of that celebrated work so deservedly celebrated work, for in the second edition⊞ ⊞ published subsequently to that of mine great indeed are
the changes that have been made: so great, that the it can
scarcely be regarded as the same work to a large and very highly important part of its extent it is altogether different.

That this Gentleman has not been added to your number
is to To many men it is matter of surprize, to
myself much more of regret than surprize. But it would
be matter of equal surprize and regret to me were I to lean then of the invitation
with which I have been honored with or the something equivalent to it has not been already
communicated to him.

Proceeding on this supposition, a suggestion I take the
liberty of making is – that more or less of light might perhaps
be thrown upon the field in question were the several
distinguishable propositions brought forward in my abovementioned
little work presented to him, and in relation to them respectively the question put to him
whether he acceded to it, and if not why not.
