A subject from whence a Title may be denominated
is either 1st Material X 2d Abstract — Substance or X Mode.
The Material again are is either 1st Things. some Thing x.2
Persons. some Person

The the Abstr Titles of the Adjective System are chiefly of the Abstract
kind — As Action — Recognizance
If any of the Substantive are also, it is in this way Abstract Titles enter into the Substantive System
it is by their denoting operations which being
performable not on any one material subject in
particular, but upon all or many, cannot with propriety
find a place under a Title denominated only from any one material subject in particular — This is the case with such as compose the Criminal code. Their material subject is either Man in general, or some Real Subject belonging to him as such & not under any limited description
