NOTORIETY. CODES in the Tabular form.

It may happen, that a Tradesman having through
indolence or Parsimony omitted to provide
himself with a Copy, may elude the penalty
by borrowing one of a Neighbour just
before the time of visitation: and one such
Copy thus handed about from one to another
may answer this purpose to a number
of persons of evading the Law without answering that which is the design if it's
designed establishment. — To prevent this, a blank space
in a some certain part of the Paper may be always
left to be filled up by the <add>each Possessor in</add> with his name & the place
of his abode. And in the case of Publicans, with
the name of the Room Chamber in which it is to
remain.

in its non appearance; & for that reason
as soon as he has produced it at a visitation
to save the penalty, may regularly
take it down again & secrete it till the next:

with such a composition cement as is not capable
of being redissolved so as that the for the purpose of taking
down the paper without destroying it: and
that it shall be signed by the Justice at
the time: this will last provision is necessary to ensure the perpetuity of
it's continuance: for without it, the Law might
be eluded by pasting up every time periodically a fresh

Promulgn: meant to ensure - ad invitos Should the expence be objected on behalf of such Publicans
who it is proposed should be furnish'd obliged to
themselves with one for every room of entertainment:
ma it may be answer'd, in the first place, that when once
done it is done perhaps for a man's life: in
the next place, that if the burthen increases
with the Number of Rooms, the means of contriving
it, that it is the profits of their business
must be supposed generally to be augmented
in proportion. — besides that, this
Denomination of persons in particular, might
be in the prize.
