This great [and important] end, now first at the Introduction generally announced, in general now first brought particularly
into view, I have has not lost sight of for a moment: any more in the course of this performance than I have of any
of the other ends there also announced, while directing my endevours in particular more particularly too to one
Expedients fashioned to one have been at the same time fashioned according to the best of my judgment and

the Science [was] is to look for its' perfections.
That a man is not empowered has not the means given him to take sch a chance as his judgement and capacity would give afford him of knowing before hand what we are to be his fate in the event of his taking or not taking the step that he proposes.
It was is a purpose with which I set out [ in the Definition of the
several offences] [& from which I have never relinquished] & from which I have not diverted <add> turned aside </add> for a moment, to shew by in
the definitions proposed to be constructed for the moral offences, that the whole subject be bought within down
to the level of profit & understanding apprehension & within the compass of perfect common memory.
That whole being having with a few exceptions, all its' parts such which relate to every men & wherewith every man
has concern & that the most intimate one possible to become acquainted may be stiled the is General General:
Code. being that which he is concerned to be acquainted at all times & in all places,
or in readiness for all times & all places, it is unsatisfactory: & being the whole all which of
what he is concerned to know with in the way of duty (at the least in the way
of duty of the first degree of necessity obligation ) may be collected into one, & stiled the General
Impromptuary Code. With this every man as he might & ought, so may he be found
to be supplied.
