Ask your noble and learned colleagues, my Lord, whose
motto proclaims him self-appointed consecrated High Priest of the twelve-headed divinity,
with him whether in the number one of its attributes be not this impotenceelaborate helplessness, this
radical disqualification elaborate incapacity for fulfilling accomplishing the end ends of justice.
Ask him to which of those qualities, on the part of the
manufacturers and makers of this God of his Idolatry, as shall he would bid us ascribe
this impotence: to that blindness which prevented them from to their blindness as preventing them from
not seeing the necessity of this power, to their indifference, as not caring
whether justice were done by means of it, or not left undone for want of
it, or rather to that sagacity which led them to descry
the inefficiency of a first suit one suit, an additional chance for another second? a probability of a second.
