Not that this is the case with all causes: for there
are some that in whose intrinsic nature necessity is, (as already observed) has
been
found of their being Inner House Causes; meaning that is of their
going into the Inner House at once, without passing through
any Outer House.

In respect of all those causes, in whatever way, if in any, the
faculty of appeal may be conducive subservient to the purposes ends of justice,
the suitor is deprived stands divested of it. In ordinary causes you
may appeal ten times over or ever so many times more than this
ten from the Judge to himself – in these privileged causes
you can not appeal so much as once from the Judge to anybody else –
at least without exporting the cause into another kingdom to
be tried by a set of Judges in number between 200 and 300
who all but from 2 or 3 to half a dozen half a dozen or so, neither
knowing nor pretending to know anything about the matters
take care to make their escape from it.
