28 Jany 1808

Had it not been for the awe I stand in of the malignity
of Mr Malone, I might on the present occasion have produced
for Your Lordships information, with respect be it ,
produced in terminis terminantibus some of those instructive pages. The discernment
and candour liberality of Lord the noble and learned Lord , to whom it is so well known
with what success any little defect in evidence may be
supplied by eloquence, would not refuse to my manuscript
the attestation it bestowed so generously upon Mr Ireland's,
but till the eye of Mr Malone is wrapt in darkness, my manuscript,
notwithstanding so assured and powerful a support will never
master up courage resolution enough to face the light.

Directions to in form of Judge and Co. for carrying on the trade of judicature
to the best advantage.

Directions showing how to make and manage to the best advantage
the capital engine and other the implements of trade: uncertainty,
delay, vexation and expence.

Directions concerning touching how stock from which I have taken
any division of the stock into bonâ fide litigants and malâ fide
do. in which instructions are given for the breeding and managing
of those useful species of cattle to the best advantage.

Different breeds requiring different management, the
and minuteness of the Dean reverend Naturalist went so far as to
distinguish these genera into their subordinate species, classed marshalled
with as much genius and described with as much accuracy
as of Linnæus himself had been the marshal and
the describer of them: indeed could it but be proved that the
illustrious Swede had stolen a peep at my manuscript, Linnæus
himself instead of being the inventor of the system which bears his name,
would turn out to have been no better than a plagiary.
