To be copied language of both is the same: do this: avoid
that, and such or such good shall accrue to You: but
if You neglect to do the one, or avoid the other,
such or such evil shall accrue to You. As the method
which all Legislators use is thus in this respect precisely
the same, so the sensations they excite, must
act precisely in the same manner upon us,
however the effect they produce, may differ
in it's force, or degree: and if Conscience has
any thing to do in one instance, it must
have precisely the same office in the other.
