PUNISHMT Punishment of Death lawful?

I have got a notion in my head some how others that ... but if you ask me why, it's more than I can tell Various persons at various times have entertained made agitated by doubts, difficulties concerning the right of societies to inflict
capital punishment — It is a great unhappiness when people are agitated with doubts which A situation full of unhappiness when their doubts are
are of such a nature as will to admitt of no solution — which is the case which happens in all instances,
where, as here the terms in which they conceive them have in reality no meaning: for
the word "right" when disjoined both from positive Law & from expediency is of that sort:
& he who persists in seeking a third sense for it must expect only to plunge himself more
& more into [utter] darkness. & distraction

Is it lawful to do good
on the Sabbath day?
