this Dilemma which tortures them to the
quick, & which they know never have yet repelled [from which they know, they never
nor ever will be able can escape] Either your Articles will will
serve to preclude diversity of opinions in those who sign them, or they
will not: if they will not, mark the tyranny
in exacting uniformity in matters so obnoxious a declaration of agreement in matters such a variety of matters
to disagreement concerning which it is so difficult, or to speak
at once, impossible for numbers to agree; & matters nothing
to the state whether they agree, or no.
are such as admitt not of any remaining diversity
of opinions in those who sign them with sincerity
or they do not: if they do they not, they are
Tyrannous ical, if they do, they are useless.
