Of these 3 propositions, there are 3 persons there is but one person in the Godhead, "there are two" &
"there is but one, are three and so on to as many as shall be assigned then is but one that can be true: but + + be it but once agreed that this or all these persons be they as few or as many as they may concur in punishing and rewarding the same actions the influence on
the Interests of Society is the same Double the number of his persons and you would double his agitation his Hatred of his — he would have more parties to defend — the shock of opposing reason against his prejudices would be more violent: more passion would be stricken out in the collision.
Of these two propositions Jesus Christ was The Son is equal to the Father & the Son is

will perform it for him. Take all the propositions that are to be met with in the 39 Articles and state them in this manner, & the you will find to be the same: or if there be any difference, I am sorry to say it, it will rather be in disfavor of that which is there established.
Of these two propositions Man is saved by Faith and not by Works, and Man
is saved by Works & not by Faith, there is but one that can be true: but, be it
but granted that in either case Good Works are equally necessary, whether they be
which the immediate cause of salvation is a question, the influence of which divided into in the interests of Society
