Coincident in most if not instances if not in
every instance with this list of Fallacies, will may be
found a correspondent list of Vulgar Errors. Suppose
Suppose its deceptious tendency property not perceived by whom
it is employed, every the instrument of deception, be it
what it may, may be termed denominated styled an error: suppose it
perceived by him, and the instrument employed by him
notwithstanding it then comes will be acknowledged recognized it is believed to come as coming under the denomination
of fallacy, and if in so far as it belongs to the same field part of thought
and action, to belong to the list of fallacies here endeavoured
to be brought to view.

As to the epithet or adjunct vulgar so generally ordinarily
prefixed to conjoined with the word error, it had has its origin
in a the work of Sir Thomas Browne so intituled. In
that instance it was scarcely other than an exact
synonym of the word common What was meant by it
was prevalent to a considerable extent: and that not
merely among the lower orders word in its was the more ordinary prosaic
and prosaic import acceptation of the word imports but in the
import given to it by the part when the great vulgar
are coupled by him with the small.
