Before the exposure any clear view can be made of the deception

given made — before any clear view can be given of the deception
liable to be produced by the abuse of the species of argument
here in question question, it will be necessary to bring to view
the distinction between the legitimate and the illegitimate use
of it: to shew in what cases the judgment may be assisted
in what other cases perverted by it.

Before the distinction between the legitimate and the illegitimate use of it authority
be can be made clear, it will be necessary in relation reference
to the argument that argument from authority to have in view the four following topics
