in some respect the counterparts of the others.

Not that in practice the shades and modifications of the argument
commonly employed are in this case so numerous as in that other. Of those
which we have seen may so continually be seen employed in that case there is
no one that is not capable of being employed, there is
no one one perhaps that has not sometimes been employed
in this. But in this case the complection of the
argument is so much less strong that in that, that
in this case the shades or the modifications the distinction between the shade and shade is scarce
worth noticing. .

One expression will serve for all of them to include them all,
the virtues excellence in every point of view, moral
and as well as intellectual intellectual as well as moral, of the character
(meaning the disposition frame of mind) of the certain persons in question.
But Of what persons? Of persons of that description which
is opposite stands opposed to the description of the persons concerned in
that other case. In that other case, the persons, the
supposed alledged imperfection in whose description character and disposition were employed
in the character of evidence circumstantial evidence
of the badness of the measure in question, it being a measure of alledged reform or improvement were the persons engaged
in the support of that [innovating] measure, in the present
case the persons whose the alledged excellencies in
whose character are employed in the character of evidence
— circumstantial evidence — of the badness of this innovating
measure, are the persons in whose situation and conduct and
situation it would be productive of some change, and who
the change not being agreeable to the, are understood seen or
supposed or expected as a matter of course, to regard it with
displeasurer
displeasure, and
accordingly to oppose
it.
