are not the sort of idolized persons here in view

The idols here in question are of a more modern
cast

Of a species of idols of a more modern cast
mention is made by Addison in several of his Spectators.
The idols he speaks of are females, and
among females, Bar Maids

Though of a more modern cast, neither are these
idols, recorded, though not without being worshipped, by Addison the Right
Honourable Essayist the sort of idols here in view

No way serves whereof It seems a not a very
easy task to trace any very serious mischief to the
worship of Bar-Maids.

It seems no very difficult task to trace much
serious mischief of the most serious kind to the species class of human idols
here in view. They are, all of them, of the male
sex — Kings, Ministers, (Heads of Parties, and Lawyers.
