but the details are
all lost. The result
though he has in his
memory he does not
mean to publish
till he can have
opportunity of repeating
them.

Hemp in certain
circumstances he
finds stronger
I think twice as
strong as iron
bulk for bulk.

Paper half as
strong as iron
a cilinder of paper
of which the transaction
is a square
with supports
30,000 pounds
of iron 60,000.
Wet paper for
a ferrule to a
chisel for example
superior to iron
if varnished when
dry to keep out
moisture.

Wood nearly as
strong as iron certainly
half.

Elastic Breechins
for Guns or
braces for carriage
instead of springs
a leather hose
filled with balls

has found thus

and braces
be made for his carriage.
