Additional Motions for Papers with relation to the Penitentiary
System
1 That the proper offices do lay before the House. Copies of
the several given in from time to time into the Office Reports made from time to time to the Court of King's Bench
by Duncan Campbell Esqr: [Henry Bradley Merchant J Chieve – Burn, J. Groundwater J. Betterworth) or any other
and all others Contractors for the maintenance of convicts, a relative
and others concerning the state of the Convicts respectively under
their care [in pursuance of the Statute of the 19th of his present
Majesty]
2. – An account of the respective values of the several
vessels that have at any time been furnished from any of his Majesty's
Dock Yards to Duncan Campbell Esqr. Henry Bradley Merchant any any other persons to serve as Hulks for the reception of convicts in the
Thames or elsewhere within England from at any time since the by year 1776 together
with the several Boats and all other appurtenances therewith furnished and the costs of
fitting up and keeping in repair every such vessel with its and all others charge respecting such the
boats appurtenances same down to the present time.
3. An account of the value of the work done by the Convicts
on board the several Hulks from the beginning of the year
1776 to the present time distinguishing the several hulks and
the several years, and stating the numbers employed of during each period,
with the natures, quantities and computed values of such work.
