Whoever has read Mr Howard's publications may
have observed instances upon instances of escapes
as well and all sorts of abuses, all referable as he himself
to shews to the crowd of the mode of
form of the prison which rendered the
prisoner conduct and occupation proceedings of the prisoners
impervious to the keeper's eyes.
