Another objection I have that has come to my
ears is the want of airiness. This is
the more deserving of notice, as it was one made
that presented itself to by Mr Howard. But
whatever ground there was might have been for
it when he made it, and certainly it had
some ground, it has no application now. What
he saw was the first case rough imperfect sketch: imperfectly
contrived and still more imperfectly expressed.
Thus was there no cent annular well:
no determinate central aperture. What I have
collected of his opinion I have only upon hearing.
Neither this at that time nor since did I had
I nor have I since had any opportunity of explanation
on that head subject with my venerable and
much-lamented friend. From the first the objection
had not escaped me: but I trusted my dependance trust was for
the remedy to on the efficacy of some one or other of
the known means of ventilation.
