New Wales Influence

I have no fanatic terrors of the influence
of the Crown. Though tolerably fixed my
notions are very easy on that head. I could
see it doubled without being in much pain
except on account of the expence: but on that
same account I could see it reduced to nothing
in as far as power remained untouched with
much more pleasure. I could behold with pleasure
the crown of Hindustan fished out of the
filth of Leadenhall Street and removed added to the
regalia in the tower: but it is with delight transport
I should behold see the order precedent of Spain
and Naples from the precedent of Austria and
Tuscany pursued in the British empire, and
behold the crown diadem of Hindustan bound upon
the temples brow of one of his Majestys sons emancipated
foresfamiliated, and sent to live among his people. He would not want for followers
nor the golden harvests of India want for English
reapers.
