Panopticon

a Staircase for the Company to go to the Chapel: the
Staircase bounded by and lighted from the Cell
Gallery with the Intermediate Area with which in
this ground floor it coincides.

The dead part will serve for the Inspector's
Staircases: one on each side.

The Gover door to the Governor's house is in
the thorough transverse passage opening into the Company's
passage. It is an iron-gate that it may not obstruct
the light: but has a door which he may shut occasionally:
for instance on Sunday when the Company comes
through that passage.

The transverse passage runs through the Governor's
house, the Company's passage and the Sub-Governor's
house: being parallel to the front and to the a tangent
to the Circle.

The five double Cells

The Governor's house in height should reach
up to the highest story of Cells.
The stories will be in height as follows
Ground floor raised 6 foot From the ground
First floor 12 18
Second floor 12 30
Third or highest floor 12 42
Ceiling of third floor 9 51
That at top & coppered
or leaded.

The 5 double Cells over the included part of the
Governor's House will serve as an infirmary. They
open upon the heads of the extended part: which
forms a walk of 75 foot by 20. One or more two
of the female prisoners may there be stationed as nurses with
a place.
