Friendly Guardian's Bond

Bond from F. G. in quality of Friendly Guardian, in favour of A. P. Penitentiary
Man or Woman belonging to the General Panopticon Penitentiary House to
the Governor thereof [or Metasylum Man or Woman to the Governor of the said Penitentiary
House] in pursuance of the Statute 34. Geo: 3. ch. §.

I. Penal Clause.
Know all Men that I F. G. of [Street Town County or Parish Nearest
Town County] [Occupation] in behalf a A. W. Penitentiary Man or Woman or Metasylum
Man or Woman am bound to the extent of Fifty Pound to the Governor of the General
Panopticon Penitentiary House, to wit in the event of my failing in the performance
of any of the undertakings following: for payment of which sum I hereby bind
my Heirs, and my Executors or Administrators.

II. Recital.
1. Whereas the Penitentiary Term of the said A. W. [or the engagement of the
said A. W. at the Metasylum] will expire one the day of next —
2. And Whereas the said A. W. hath declared himself willing on the expiration of
such his term to repair to [Street Town or County or Parish Nearest Town County]
there to exercise under my Guardianship the occupation of a []
3. And Whereas at the request of the said A. W. and according to the conditions
contained in the Statute aforesaid I have consented to be bound for him in the capacity
of his Friendly Guardian.
4. And Whereas the said Governor hath also signified his consent to accept of me
in the said capacity and to execute in my favour an Assignment of the Wardship of
the said A. W. I do accordingly engage as follows, that is to say:

III. Conditions or Undertakings.
1. I will on the aforesaid of [Month] appear by myself or Agent at the said
Penitentiary House [or Metasylum] and then and there take the said A. W. under
my charge.
2. I will from the day of aforesaid untill that day twelvemonth provide for the maintenance
of the said A. W.: and for every charge which through my failure therein
shall have devolved upon any person or persons, I will make full amends.
3. In the event of the said A. W.'s being convicted (which God forbid!) of any
felony or felonies committed during the aforesaid term of this my Guardianship, I will
