Assignment of the Wardship of a guardian Penitentiary Prisoner
to a Friendly Guardian.
General Penitentiary House [Day Month Year]

I. Recital

1. Whereas the term of A.P. as Penitentiary Prisoner in the said House does this day expire.
2. Whereas F.G. at the request of the said A.P. hath in pursuance of the Statute of
the 34. Geo: 3. Ch. §. undertaken the Wardship of the said A.P. in the capacity
of his Friendly Guardian.
3. And hath this day executed in my favour a proper Bond for that purpose.
4. And Whereas the said A.P. hath declared himself desirous of being committed to the
Guardianship of the said F.G. under the authority of the said Act.
5. And Whereas he the said A.P. hath expressed his desire and intention to exercise
at [here name the place] the occupation of a [...] with the permission and
assistance of the said F.G.
6. Which permission & assistance the said F.G.
6. Which permission & assistance the said F. G. hath accordingly declared himself
ready to give.

II. Assignment.

Know all Men that I the Governor of the said Penitentiary House do hereby in
pursuance of the said Statute, but under the limitations & conditions hereto subjoined assign to
the said F.G. the wardship of the said A.P. to the intent that he the said A.P. may
repair to the place aforesaid there to exercise the occupation aforesaid.

III. Limitations & Conditions

annexed to the above Assignment.
1. This Assignment is good only for a year from the date hereof: the said F.G. being
bound on or before this day twelvemonth either to renew his said Bond for one year longer
or else to deliver up or cause to be delivered up the Body of the said A.P. (if not absolutely
prevented therefrom by dangerous sickness on the part of the said A.P.) to me
or my Representative at the Metasylum in [...]
2. If the said F.G. should at any time think fit to release in favour of the said
A.P. any part of the power of a Master to the said F.G. over the said A.P.
