XIII Settlement
3. That your Worships, as soon as you shall have made such Depatation as aforesaid, would be
pleased to cause a Letter of advice thereof to be sent to us by the Clerk of your Worshipful Court, or in
such other manner as to your Worships may seem meet, informing as of the name and abode of the
Magistrate so deputed, and that the papers herewith sent have been transmitted to such Magistrate:
for which Letter of Advice we herein also inclose a blank Form marked F in like manner furnished
to us by the said Governor.
And your Petitioners shall ever pray &c
Witness our hands at aforesaid this day of aforesaid.
A. O. of [ ] by which direction Letters will reach me by the Post.
B. O. of [ ] by which direction Letters will reach me by the Post.

Instructions for the Examination of A. W. touching the Settlement of A. P. Penitentiary Man.

Here state the nature of the evidence which it is supposed the intended Examinant may be able to
give and the grounds for supposing him able so to do.

Questions humbly submitted as proper to be put to the said intended Examinant.
Question. 1.

With any such other proper questions as his answers the questions aforesaid may suggest, and
any other questions whatsoever which to the Examining Magistrate may appear proper to be put, &
calculated to obtain true & material information relative to the case.

Gentlemen
This is to inform you by order of the Court that your Packet dated the day
of [Month Year] and to me directed in order that the same might by me be presented to the Court was
on the day of [Month Year] by me accordingly received: and therein your several inclosures respectively
marked A.B.C.D.E. & F
In answer thereto I am to inform you that in pursuance of an Order of the said Court the Papers
marked B.C.D. & E. (the Paper marked D. having been duly filled up by order as aforesaid)
were by me this day delivered [or addressed by Post] to A.J. of near [Town]
Esquire . By the Court C.P. Clerk of the Peace.
