— and examination
Art.2. On the presentation of such Report, the
person presenting the same shall make answer
vivâ voce upon oath to all such pertinent questions
as shall be put to him in relation to the said management,
either by the Court or with the leave
thereof by any other person then and there present:
questions the answer to which may tend to convict
the examinant of any offence even though the same
were capital, not excepted: and such examination
having by authority of the Court been committed
to writing on the spot, and copy thereof given to the
examinant, may be produced in evidence on the
trial of the examinant for any offence whatsoever.

So at any time, upon
Order or Warrant—
Art.3. For the purpose of the like examination
the Court or any Judge thereof may at any time
either by order or warrant compel the appearance
as well of the Governor himself as of any persons
employed under him in the management of the
said Penitentiary House.

Others examinable
as witnesses—
Art.4. On the same occasions & in the same
manner may any other persons be convened and
examined as witnesses.
