6. That being ambitious of engaging in his Majesty's
service by Land in the [Corps] or by Sea
on board the [Ship] should he be thought worthy
of being received into the Company of brave and
honest defenders of their Country he hath requested
of me a testimonial of his good behaviour as a step
toward his attainment of that honour: and it is
with pleasure that I find myself warranted by truth
and bound in justice to give him accordingly this
certificate.

[honour] [advantage.]
