13Panopticon BillFriendly Guardiann

Art. 13. Every such examination shall be taken upon

--with an Accreditation
Certificate from a Justice,
Minister, or two Parish
Officers present or past --
Oath, committed to writing & signed by the Examinant: and
to the record or memorandum thereof shall be annexed a
certificate declaring the contents thereof to be according to the
belief of the person granting the same true: and the
examinant to be a person of unexceptional character and
fit to be accepted in the capacity of a Friendly Guardian
under this Act: which said certificate of accreditation shall
be signed either by the Magistrate by whom such examination
was taken, or by some one other Justice of the Peace
or by a Minister (whether Parson or Curate) ordinarily
officiating in the Parish wherein the examinant has or
within one year past had his abode, or by two persons
being or having been Churchwardens or other Overseers of
the Poor for some Parish or Place within which such
Examinant once had his abode or some Parish or Place
thereto adjoining: the said persons writing together with
their respective names, their respective places of abode
according to a direction by which they may respectively
be found & particularly by the Post.

Art. 14. If such examination be not presented to

before the Prisoner's
Election day --
the Governor at least six weeks before the day given to
the Prisoner for making his election as aforesaid, it
shall be at the discretion of the said Governor to accept
or not to accept the examinant in the capacity of Friendly Guardian.
