Art. 5. For permitting an escape through negligence

for permitting escape
through negligence -
on the part of any person employed in
the management of the Prison, Fine, with or
without imprisonment in the same or elsewhere,
at the discretion of the Court.
Art. 6. For anyone who being employed as a

for a Watchman deserting
or being asleep
or drunk on his
station -
Guard or Watchman in or about the Prison shall
between Sunset & Sunrise desert his station or
walk, or be asleep or drunk therein, confinement
in the same on conviction before one Justice for
any term not greater than a year, or on conviction
by indictment, for life.
Art. 7. And Whereas a prisoner committed

for escape etc on the
part of a prisoner for
life -
to the said Prison for life would thereby be incapable
of undergoing the punishment herein
appointed for other fugitives And Whereas
capital punishment (being the usual punishment
for disobedience to a sentence of transportation
for life) is in the present instance not
necessary, and in the case of a desperate and
abandoned Prisoner might operate as an incitement
to the offence, And Whereas if some
punishment capable of striking terror into any
man
