for desertion from the
Metasylum
Art.20. Any quondam Penitentiary Prisoner
absenting him or herself from his or her service
in the Metasylum in the intention absolutely to
desert the same, may on conviction before a Justice
of the Peace, be punished with confinement as aforesaid
not for more than six months, or on indictment,
for not more than three years.

thereunto
Art.21. Any person accessory whether before
or after the fact to the absolute desertion of a Metasylum
-man or woman, whether by inticing, or
assisting, or harbouring such deserter, or otherwise
knowing or having sufficient reason to believe the
existence of the intention on the part of such Metasylum
-man or woman so to desert, shall on
conviction before one Justice forfeit to thr use of the
informer any sum not less than 20s nor
more than 5£, over and above the penalty given in
the case of abstention as aforesaid to the use of the party grieved.
